The brief

What the client needed

Site branding had to do two jobs: identify the team to the building's main contractor (so they could be waved through the gates without a fuss) and read clearly enough at distance for safety reasons. The owner had tried heat-transfer vinyl and it lasted about three washes before lifting at the corners. He wanted something that would still look professional after a year on a working site.

We tuned the digitising for the heavier ripstop fabric — denser underlay, slightly thicker thread choice — and ran the back placement at 25 cm wide so it reads from the other side of a building site. Reorders for new joiners ship within the week.

“A year in and the embroidery still looks the day it left the shop. We just send Louise the sizes when we hire and the kit appears.”

— Owner, Gauteng electrical contracting business
