A Midrand prep school
Embroidered sports caps for the grade 7 leavers and coaching staff at a Midrand prep school — one school crest, two cap styles.
What the client needed
The school runs a grade 7 leavers tradition where every leaver gets a school-crest cap they can wear at high school sports days. Their previous supplier could screen-print the crest but it cracked after a season in the sun. The school asked us if we could match the crest exactly in embroidery and also produce a slightly different coaching-staff variant on a softer cap so the staff caps didn't get muddled up with the kids' caps.
We digitised the crest specifically for the curved front panel of the structured cap (cap-frame embroidery is its own discipline — most flat-stitch files distort badly on the curve) and produced a second, scaled-down version for the coaches' peak embroidery. The school books the next year-end leavers run in October every year so we can fit the production capacity without rushing it.
“The crests look exactly right and the caps come back looking the same after a full season of cricket and athletics. The leavers love them.”
